Welcome to FezentRun Vizslas!
Show - Performance - Field
FezentRun kennel is located just north of Dallas TX. We strive to breed happy, healthy, versatile vizslas for show and field.
When I was 9 years old I joined a local 4-H club. My first dog, Abbott was a golden retriever/beagle mix and he had a lot of issues. He was aggressive due to abuse he had suffered as a newborn puppy. I worked hard with Abbott and learned a lot about dog behavior and dealing with aggression. When we showed for the first time at the county fair I was so nervous I cried and swore that I couldn't do it. I was finally coaxed into the ring by my advisors and my mother. I dried my tears and came out of that ring with 5th place in obedience. From that moment on I was hooked! I began showing a norwegian elkhound named Riser in AKC conformation when I was 11. From there I branched out into obedience, rally, and agility.
I met my first vizsla when I was about 12 and fell in love! I begged my mom for one for years, but she always said they were too high energy. I read every book about vizslas I could get my hands on, followed several of the top show kennels, and watched every vizsla ring I could find at shows. For over 20 years I obsessed over everything vizsla. I met my husband Andrew when I was 25, and 2 years later we bought our first vizsla, Maverick. He instantly became the light of our life, and even though we already knew a lot about vizslas, we never imagined the insane level of love and devotion that these dogs can give. 2 years and a move to Texas later, we brought home Rio, who was the first breeding bitch in our kennel.
From there things have progressed rapidly! Our kennel has expanded with the addition of two beautiful girls from our friend and mentor Debbie Sullivan. Bindi and Dixie have both accomplished a lot at a young age, and they have even greater things on the horizon. We had our first litter in 2019 and kept a beautiful puppy named Star. We are so happy with what she has been able to do in such a short time! We also began rescue work, helping house and transport vizslas in need. We are branching out into the sports of lure coursing, barn hunt, and dock diving, and we (as in the humans, the vizslas are naturals!) are learning how to field trial and hunt test. We are so thankful to all our vizsla friends and mentors who have helped give us this awesome start!

Please note that we do not sell puppies to anyone living within Dallas City limits!
The city of Dallas has a mandatory spay/neuter law that requires that you alter your pet by the age of 6 months. Our contract does not allow for spaying/neutering until the dog is over the age of 2 for health reasons. We would never want to put our FezentRun families in the position of having to choose to break our contract or break the law. Therefore, we have had to make the difficult decision to not sell to families that live within the Dallas city limits.
